About

About Precision Physiotherapy & Massage

Our main service is providing corrective musculoskeletal therapy, to help people attain normal function and improve their quality of life… and to achieve new physical goals!

Our practices are located in Alfred Cove, Brentwood (bordering Mount Pleasant) and Manning.

Our Physiotherapists have a minimum qualification of a University B.Sc. degree.

Our Remedial Massage therapists are in training (often with a registered training organisation and with us) or have already qualified in massage therapy, some with Diploma level qualifications in Australia.

With all physiotherapists and some of our massage therapists, you will be able to claim back some of the cost using your private health cover (depending on your insurance). Our receptionists can advise which of our therapists are health cover providers. Your health fund will be able to tell you what level of cover you have and the rebate amount.

Our HICAPS EFTPOS terminals allow instant claiming for almost all private health funds.

We look forward to helping you.

Do I need a referral?

Private patients do not require a referral.

Patients seeking insurance compensation from a motor vehicle accident (MVA), work injury, a patient under the Department of Veteran’s Affairs (DVA) or Medicare EPC treatment plan, will require a referral from their G.P. If an insurance case, please bring any supporting documentation e.g. the case officer’s contact details.

What should I wear?

Wearing loose clothes will allow muscle and joint testing to be carried out more easily. In some cases (with the patient’s consent) patients may be asked by the therapist to remove heavy or restricting clothing. In the case of conditions that are irritated from running/walking or playing a sport, the therapist may ask to see the footwear worn during these activities.

What can I expect on the first visit?

At Precision Physiotherapy, the initial consultation involves assessing the area of concern. The physiotherapist will ask questions about the history and nature of the problem. Describing the region of pain, how it changes with movement, and a description of what you feel will improve the physiotherapist’s understanding of the structure/s at fault. The physiotherapist will then conduct various tests to assist in making a provisional diagnosis. Once a provisional diagnosis is made, the physiotherapist can begin treating the area by selecting one or more treatment techniques. The patient is always asked for consent before using various techniques such as spinal manipulation (clicking) and myofascial dry needling using an acupuncture needle.
